Having a Say

West/Central Area Committee
Ward councillors representing Castle, Market and Newnham attend these meetings. We can attend and ask questions. See https://democracy.cambridge.gov.uk/ieIssueDetails.aspx?IId=19949&Opt=3

West Cambridge Community Group
See http://www.westcambridge.co.uk/project. We regularly attend these meetings which are chaired by Harvey Bibby and organised by Heather Topel, who is the University of Cambridge West and North West Developments Project Director.

Cambourne to Cambridge Local Liaison Forum (LLF)
The Cambourne to Cambridge LLF is the mechanism whereby residents can put forward resolutions which the Greater Cambridge Partnership Officers may act upon. Members of the LLF include local Councillors and Residents’ Associations, plus some stakeholder groups such as Cambridge PPF and Smarter Cambridge Transport. The Chair of the Cambourne to Cambridge LLF is Helen Bradbury, who is on Coton Parish Council, and the Vice Chair is Cllr Bridget Smith, a South Cambridgeshire District Councillor. The MRARA has a set on the LLF.

Madingley Road Area Focus Group
In early 2017 the MRARA joined with other local groups to form the Madingley Road Area Focus Group, in order to strengthen the representation to the LLF regarding the issues concerning the A1303 East of the M11. The Officers are:
Chair Harriet Gillett (Storeys Way)
Vice Chair Richard Scurr (Conduit Head Road)
Other members are:
Shelley Surtees (Domestic Bursar, Churchill College)
Harvey Bibby (Lansdowne Road)
Jane Firman (Conduit Head Road)
Charles D’Oyly (Chair, North Newnham Residents’ Association (NNRA))
Heather Du Quesnay, (Secretary, NNRA)
Penny Heath (NNRA)
Angela Chadwyck-Healey (Chair, MRARA)
Ali Dick (Secretary, MRARA – now retired)
Karen Wiemer (incoming Secretary, MRARA)
The Focus Group is now recognised and is included in all relevant meetings with the GCP Officers in charge of the C2C project.

Greater Cambridge Partnership
The GCP has an Executive Board made up of five members, of which only three have voting rights. The three voting members are from Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. The two non-voting members represent the University and the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Below the Executive Board is the Joint Assembly, which has approximately 20 members representing the Councils, Universities and local businesses. The Joint Assembly debates and then recommends action to the Executive Board and then the Executive Board makes all decisions.
